Conclusion: There is No God

The Truth Is…

Nothing in the Bible that pertains to God can be proven as fact.

The Bible is wrong about every important “fact” that believers use to support their faith.

The overwhelming number of

  • scientific impossibilities
  • logical impossibilities
  • internal contradictions
  • differences in theology between the Old and New Testaments
  • differences in theology between writers of the gospel
  • numerical contradictions
  • mathematical errors
  • anachronisms
  • inconsistencies
  • incorrect historical references
  • failed prophecies
  • failed promises
  • false authorship
  • heinous acts of crimes against humanity (slavery, torture, infanticide, genocide, abortion)

found in the Torah and the Bible cannot possibly be the inspired, inerrant word of God.

Since it is impossible to “prove” the existence or non–existence of God, we must rely on circumstantial evidence.

The Truth Is…

The preponderance of circumstantial evidence leads to the conclusion that there is no god

  • The magnitude of human suffering throughout the world, throughout the ages argues against the existence of a loving God. Think Somalia 2011.
  • No prayer that could prove God’s existence has ever been answered.
  • According to the Bible, between 1500 BC and 1000 BC, an allegedly loving God ordered or participated in 135 separate incidents of murder; killing over 24,000,000 innocent men, women, children and fetuses.  There is no documentation of these stupendous slaughters anywhere other than the Bible. He has not been seen or heard from since.
  • God only intervened on behalf of the Jews, and no one else. Thus one must conclude that his “appearances” were created by Jewish zealots  intent on proving that “their” God is far superior to your God.
  • Anything that can be scientifically proved is presented incorrectly in the Bible.
  • Foundational stories (Creation, Adam, Eve, Flood, Ark, Exodus, Moses) never happened.
  • No corroborating archeological evidence has been found; contrary evidence has been found
  • No mention of of the Jews in ancient writings of Egyptians and Greeks
  • No mention of the Bible’s supernatural events mentioned in the writings of the Egyptians, Greeks or Romans
  • No mention of Jesus or his miracles in the ancient writings of the Romans.
  • Real bad things happen to good people, real good things happen to bad people.
  • An allegedly omniscient God constantly asks questions, has fears, human reactions.
  • God/Jesus are no different than religions of their times. I.e. virgin birth, sacrifice, suffering, raised deity, ad infinitum.
  • Other religions were well established in other parts of the world in 1500 BC – 1000 BC. There is no resemblance between these religions and the Jewish/Christian God. If the J/C God were universal, He would have destroyed their religions just like he tried to do with all the non-Jewish religions in the Old Testament because “His name is “jealous””.
  • The Jewish God made his presence known only to a select few, in a very small part of the world, long ago. Thus knowledge of the Judo/Christian God is based on the writings and oral tradition of men who wrote over 2000 years ago; then these writings were edited, combined, translated and copied multiple times in multiple languages, all by men with multiple agendas. This is a very tenuous scenario upon which to base a religion.
  • There are over 10,000 distinct religions. Within Christianity, there are 33,830 denominations. IF there were a universal God, there wouldn’t be 10,000 different religions.
  • Most of their adherents of these10,000 different “religions” are a product of their time (century) location (country) and parent’s religion. Had they been born in 1950, in Jackson Mississippi to white Christian parents, chances are they would be Christian.

Circumstantial Evidence for God

  • The writings of 20 – 40 ignorant, superstitious, unknown, Taliban-mentality men, with unknown agendas writing between 3500 and 2000 years ago.
For example, it is unclear in these writings whether Jesus is God (a matter of debate among the 1000 denominations of Christianity), (just one more example of inconsistency in the Bible), but, if you consider Jesus to be God, then …

    • to whom is Jesus praying?
    • how can a God die?

Conclusion

There is no God

Man made God in his own image; a God of fear, hatred, jealousy, murder, bigotry and retribution.

my dog said god ain’t real we got it, gentlemen

  2. Kyani says:

Ricky Gervais put it perfectly and when I quote his words to religious fanatics (mainly Christians), it’s like the rug is pulled out from under them and they’re lost for words:

“If you’re born in India, you’re probably a Hindu.
If you’re born in America, you’re probably a Christian.
If you’re born in Pakistan, you’re probably a Muslim.

That’s a coincidence, isn’t it – that you’re always born into the right God?
    Always. Isn’t that lucky?

I was born into the right God.
All those others are going to hell,
but I was born into the right religion.”

I agree wholeheartedly with this entire post.

The simple truth is that there’s no evidence of a god because the entire concept of ‘god’ is that it’s a human-created ‘tool’, designed and used for duping the masses into blind obedience to political whims.

There’s nothing more ‘mysterious’ about the entire nonsensical subject than that.

  4. Lameck Lazarus Eliazer Lipenga says:

If you can recognize the existence of good and bad happening, where do you get you understanding of what is good and bad?

how did you come to tell that killing is bad? or rape and slavery. It seems your understanding is that God`s existence could be accepted if he could be able to prevent situations you think A God was supposed to prevent.

You have also pointed out that bad things happen to good people. What measure did you use to call them good people?

Is it your own understanding of what is to be good or bad or something adopted from ethical point of view as per society of your domain?

If your understanding of how morally we were supposed to be is emerging from values we have understood from others, it means you have respect for order. This is what we call transcendent value. Everything is from somewhere or someone then to us.

Before you come to the conclusion that there is no God which you may be true of not true depending on the understanding you have n what is to be God.

If to be God Is to prevent:

    slavery
    murder
    answering prayers
    wars
    hunger
    sickneses
    etc

Then there is no god; in the context of such a definition of God which I agree there is no such god, who seek approval of men by doing what they define him to be.

But this God We believe, He is God before he does anything for Man.

    • Johnson says:

In order to decide that you believe that the God of the Bible is good, how did you do that, how did you determine that it’s true? You see, there is no solid foundation in attributing these terms to some god or other, that’s an assertion rather than a foundation and a product of your own judgement just the same as it is when anyone else uses the terms “good” and “evil/bad”.

As to what good and evil even are, it’s just a byproduct of reciprocity; we all have a solid biological foundation and various needs and senses which do serve as a foundation. I do not like being hurt, you do not like being hurt, so if I hurt you then you feel it’s bad, and if you hurt me back in retaliation I know what it’s like and don’t want to be hurt again either so I stop hurting you. Reciprocity is the basis of morality, hence the silver rule of not doing to others what you wouldn’t have done for yourself. The golden rule is to do to others what you would have done to yourself. These values long predate any Bible nonsense, and if they didn’t then we wouldn’t be here today.

  5. Daniel Yniguez says:

My belief is in Science, and it’s not “blind faith”, it’s based on OBSERVATION AND FACTS. Goodbye to man-made gods!!!

  6. David Sovine says:

Being Molested by 20 plus priests and numerous Preachers over a span of 10 years and listening to their biblical excuses for how they had a god given right to violate who ever when ever, combined with watching the thousands of pathetic fallowers of the so called god hand over money to whatever loudmouthed conman who would put them in line ahead of every one else. Has enhanced my ability to see things in a true and logical way. Just read the pathetic crap they write here to try and justify their stupid belief in something that is just plain evil in the most devious way. They should be institutionalized!

  7. Elmay Paathe says:

If there is no GOD, then there is NO YOU or Me. For we did not make ourselves or process of life, did we man? I am with no Bible, no religions all-man-made in HIS image not God’s? No Jesus either.

    • Dana says:

How ridicules. And how there is a god if there is no creator that has created him? If there is no creator to create the god , there is NO GOD. And do you know that the creator of the god also needs a creator too?

    • Gene whitaker says:

then the question is who mad god? Do you think he just exist?

  8. BUSTER DOUGLAS says:

Had this conversation with the ol’ wife last evening and presented her with thousands of years of facts and data regarding millions upon millions of human suffering , prayers unanswered , child sacrifices , wars , diseases , constant destructive behavior among the very religious zealots , the list is endless , ad nauseam. Why the angel of light is still allowed in the kingdoms throne being allowed to point out certain people on earth that need to be tested for their loyalty or not. There seems to be evidence of creation , although evolution and creation can and do work well together for the most part. This subject is one of the most difficult to comprehend throughout the ages. Humans are pathetic , sad creatures , yet are an amazing species in their own right. Religion is just another construct to give those select few power over the masses. It is heartbreaking actually that so many have given themselves over to such nonsense. I believe there is a spiritual world that is unseen and is being proven now through scientific methods. But the million dollar question is who is in charge and what is their intention for humans or any life for that matter. It is extremely difficult to step outside the daily brainwashing put upon humans , so the best thing to do is accept life is short , take a deep breath , have a nice cup of coffee and just take a walk to look around the beauty of the planet.

    • Mrs McGoo says:

      I agree, Buster – wholeheartedly.

Can’t help but wonder, though – who says there always has to be ‘someone in charge’?

What if the whole concept of ‘someone in charge’ is just another form of manipulation to make us believe that we’re so weak and so inferior that we can’t possibly – and must not – be trusted to govern ourselves?

What if we’re our own Creators using evolution as a tool?

What if mental gymnastics is how we develop critical thinking strength and stamina?

  9. Ken says:

    So true god is manmade

  10. Ken Morgan says:

    How true

  11. veejlee says:

If the Bible is the literal word of God ,then why does it strike any decent person as so morally repugnant? Not once does God or Jesus or anyone in the Bible say a word against the utterly abhorrent practice of slavery. Would you allow your child to be raped ,tortured and murdered if you were able to stop it? Well the Bible tells us that God did, frequently.

  12. Midieaje says:

You can say there is no god if you can proof which first chicken or egg 🙂

    • Gage shaw says:

Egg. There were dinosaur eggs before there were chickens. Bam. There is no God

    • David Sovine says:

That is a 1st grade argument stupid as they get. A 5 year old neighbor boy was being watched by his Christian grandmother, while she was smoked up on her prescription marihuana, and the boy came upon her loaded pistil and proceeded to play with it . Your loving god capable of anything, could have said put it down Jimmy But instead he said pull the Triger. And of course no charges were filed since everyone involved were Christians which is usually true with most child killers.

  13. MelC says:

Carl Sagan was an extraordinary man. He was an astronomer, cosmologist, astrobiologist, author, and science communicator. Smithsonian magazine said this about him… “We live in Carl Sagan’s universe–awesomely vast, deeply humbling. It’s a universe that, as Sagan reminded us again and again, isn’t about us. We’re a granular element. Our presence may even be ephemeral—a flash of luminescence in a great dark ocean. Or perhaps we are here to stay, somehow finding a way to transcend our worst instincts and ancient hatreds, and eventually become a galactic species. We could even find others out there, the inhabitants of distant, highly advanced civilizations—the Old Ones, as Sagan might put it.”

There are many videos of him explaining spatial dimensions beyond the three that we humans are trapped inside using the “Flatlanders” as examples. In one of them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTL02N9EHzU) he attempts to show us a fourth dimensional shape, while reminding us that it’s beyond our 3 dimensional minds. That’s 3 dimensional space, but there’s also the illusion of Time warping our Reality.

It’s been said that Time is Nature’s way of keeping everything from happening all at once….. the three dimensions of Time…. Past, Present and Future. Humans perceive Reality through the flow of time, but this is an illusion. In his astounding book, “The Power of Now”, Eckhart Tolle reminds us that we live almost exclusively through memory and anticipation. This compulsion exists because the Past gives us an identity and the Future holds the promise of salvation and fulfillment. But both are illusions. Contrary to what we may believe, time is not precious. What is precious is the point that is out of time… the NOW. The eternal present is the space within which our entire lives unfold. There was never a time, and never will be a time, when our lives were not Now.

In their attempts to explain what Sagan, Tolle and many others do so clearly and elequently, humans of the past created deities to explain the unexplainable, and often to grant themselves entitlement and power through their “knowledge” and intimate connection to the deities they created. There were literally thousands of them and some still exist today. Most, if not all of them, were extraterrestrial in nature. Many of the deity creators believed the world was flat, the Earth was the centre of the Universe, the Sun revolved around the Earth, disease was caused by demons and witches that could be released by trepanation and blood letting, etc. Those who questioned or challenged these beliefs, and the entitlement of their interpreters, were often tortured and killed as heretics.

There are few worshippers of Jupiter, Neptune, Apollo, Zeus or Anu in the world today. It’s estimated that just over 50% of the world’s population consider themselves adherents of Abrahamic religions…. Judaism, Islam and Christianity. All are from the same source and all believe they are linked by lineage to Abraham. However, this commonality is lost in the myriad of divisive details that have accumulated. For example, there tens of thousands of Christian denominations alone, separated by the dogma and doctrines of their founders, but often not understood by it’s members.

Although we no longer live in the Dark Ages, contrived and encouraged divisiveness continues to be used to pit one society/culture, and it’s belief system, against another. Amazingly, as evolved as we believe we are, it still works like magic. Horrific events occurring around the world today are stark evidence of the dark brew that occurs when religion, politics, money and mass belief/delusion are mixed in the pot and set on boil.

Although there’s much that is unexplainable in our Universe, we need not rely on ancient myths and deities in place of knowledge and understanding, particularly when they result in continued threats, bloodshed and barbarism.

Eckhart Tolle offers us some enlightened clarity with in these words…..

“The word God has become empty of meaning through thousands of years of misuse. People who have never even glimpsed the realm of the sacred, the infinite vastness behind the word, use it with great conviction, as if they knew what they are talking about. Or, they argue against it, as if they knew what it is that they are denying. This misuse gives rise to absurd beliefs, assertions and egoic delusions, such as ““My or our God is the only true God, and your god is false”’. The word God has become a closed concept. The moment the word is uttered, a mental image is created, no longer, perhaps, of an old man with a white beard, but still a mental representation of someone or something outside you, and, yes, almost inevitably a male someone or something. Neither God nor Being nor any other word can define or explain the ineffable reality behind the word, so the only important question is whether the word is a help or a hindrance in enabling us to experience That toward which it points.”

  14. John says:

my conclusion is there’s no God. my face was so great for him and my love and feel that he is not there to hear my prayers. me as a father when my son talks to me I tried to do my best for him I know I am not a perfect parent but I try. a god that is so great does nothing to prove his existence people are in needand he does nothing to do as we were told. to pray to Him even when you do not want anything but just peace in your life. all that is told that he does things for a reason is just to keep us moving on but for what misery pain suffering. they talk about heaven that is so great but why if it is so great then why did we have a fallen angel called Lucifer the devil. that he was jealous because he was not getting the attention that he wanted. like the universe there is no end it goes on forever and ever and to see that we are the only ones here is foolish.

    • Jeffrey Ouellette says:

He proved His existence to me. You have to bring yourself to a humble level. Ask Him to show you something but must be patient and could be the smallest thing. There is a living God and His Son OUR Savior and a Holy Spirit. Come on when you sinned you didn’t get convicted by the Holy Spirit telling you not to do what your were getting ready to do? Not 1 time in your life? I know if you said no you are lying.

      • Gage shaw says:

Puleeze…. I disagree. I believe in the invisible spaghetti monster.

      • Vicky says:

This is so untrue… are you saying you’re that perfect that you do not even have a sin? Or maybe we should say God is been partially, why does bad things happen to good people and the bad ones keep living perfect lives? Life is not fair if truly there’s God and the word said if your faith is a small as mustard seed you should be able to move mountain and even faiths that are bigger than mustards can get jobs and simple things in life. Bible is a lie
