Christians are forever telling us that “God Loves You”. Probably the primary source of this belief is this phrase from John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that he that believith in him will have everlasting life. John 3:16

The Truth Is…

First off

God states right off that He is responsible for all the evil ever.

    I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Isaiah 45:7-2

 

Secondly,

He is more than willing to accept blame for those who are dumb, deaf or blind.

Who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Exodus 4:11

And then, having maketh the dumb, deaf, and the blind, He won’t let them worship (why would they want to?)

Whosoever … hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God. … Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries. Leviticus 21:17-23

God Does Not Love You If You are not one of the Children of Israel (a Jew)

All books of the Old Testament are written by Jews, to Jews for Jews only.

There are numerous passages in the bible that show God’s love is very conditional. A careful reading of the Old Testament shows that its message is intended for the Children of Israel only.  God did not love you if you were Amalikite, Anakim, Bashanite, Cannite, Ethiopian, Hittite, Heshbonite, citizen of Jerico, citizen of Ai, Hazorite, Perizzite, Moabite, Benjamite, Philistine (murdered by Saul & David), from the houses of Jeroboam or Baasha, or Syrian. All of these  peoples were murdered (murder = “not loved”) either directly by God or their murder was commanded or condoned by God. The Biblical verses supporting this truth are presented below.

He doesn’t love you if you were or are  a bastard or if your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandfather was a bastard. “A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord. Deuteronomy 23:2-4

In the passages below, God, over and over,  promises to give land belonging to non Jews  (e.g. Canaanites,  Hittites,  Amorites, Perizzites,  Hivites,  Jebusites, et. al.), to the Jews.

 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. Genesis 12:7

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:  For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. Genesis 13:14-15

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates
The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites. Genesis 15:18-21

 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey;
unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.  Exodus 3:7-8

And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the …
Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites,
unto a land flowing with milk and honey.Exodus 3:17

There is no question that God loves only the Children of Israel and is willing to give the land of non Jews to the Jews. Here he directly orders that all non Jews be murdered.

Should anyone protest about this land grab, God promises to punish them.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3

Because those people who lived in those places didn’t give up their land willingly, God slaughtered them as he indicated he would. See How Many Did God Kill?

Deuteronomy 20:10-17
“When you draw near a city to fight against it, offer terms of peace to it. And if its answer to you is peace and it opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall do forced labour for you and shall serve you. But if it makes no peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it; and when the Lord your God gives it into your hand you shall put all its male to the sword, but the women and the little ones, the cattle, and everything else in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall enjoy the spoil of your enemy, which the Lord God has given to you. Thus you shall do to all the cities which are far from you, which are not cities of the nations here. In the cities of these people that the Lord your God gives you an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes but you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittites and the Amoriotes, the Canaanites and the Jebusites, as the Lord your God has commanded.”

Think about that one for a minute … Lie to the inhabitants of a city, enslave them if they believe the lie; if they resist then kill all the males and rape all the women… and that’s just the cities that are not part of the “inheritance” God gave to the Children. For those cities that God gave to the Children, God commands that EVERYTHING be utterly destroyed.

God Does Not Love You If You Don’t Recognize him As Lord.

And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death. Leviticus 24:16

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.Deuteronomy 17

They didn’t have rockets and mortars in those days or we’re sure God would have recommended  using those weapons instead of stones.

NOTE. It’s the Bible that says kill non-believers; the evil isn’t restricted to Islam.

We shall start with the two verses that helped to inflict one of the biggest mass murders in history, the Inquisition.

Woman with “familiar spirits” must be stoned to death. Leviticus 20:27

“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Exodus 22:18

Obviously, since Jesus had yet to be born, all the writings were about the Jewish God who chose the Jews as His people. God doesn’t have anything nice to say about anyone who was not a Jew.

Because He was a jealous God, he despised all who did not recognize Him as God. If you weren’t one of God’s chosen people, you were an enemy and there was a good chance you would be killed by God (see How many did God kill) or one of his appointed killers, Moses, David, Joshua. There is nothing written in the Old Testament that wasn’t intended for its Jewish audience.

The Truth Is…

God killed many many innocent people in the process of getting the Children of Israel to the land that he promised them; he even personally participated in the mayhem by throwing down huge hailstones unto Azekah, killing more with hailstones than did the Children of Israel slay with their swords. Here’s a partial list of God’s love for all mankind.

 Midianites:

“And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males … And Moses was wroth with the officers … And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. (Numbers 31:1-35)

Is there anything more despicable than this passage? We think not. Moses, the deliverer of the commandment “Thou shalt not kill” orders “every male among the little ones” (that would be little boys) to be slaughtered. Moses tells his troops that they can “keep alive for themselves” all the virgin women children. This is the worst drivel in the Holy Bible. Please spin this one for us – we’re about to lose it.

Well, now, at least the worst is over… or is it?

Wait, Wait, There’s More That’s Even Worse

Deuteronomy 13:6-10

If thy brother … or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods … Thou shalt not consent unto him … neither shall thine eye pity him ... But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.”And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Again, it is obvious( thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt)  that this is directed to the Jews only. So why do Christians embrace the Old Testament? But since they do, why don’t they kill me?

Seven Nations – no mercy

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: (Deuteronomy 7:1)

7 cities:

“So Joshua … left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.” (Joshua 10:28-42)

Amalekites

God and Moses help Joshua kill the Amalekites (Exodus 17:3)

Anakim:

“A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them.” (Deuteronomy 2:21-22)

“Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.” (Joshua 11:20-21)

Bashanites:

” I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people … So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive.”
(Numbers 21:34-35)

Bashanites (again):

“So the LORD our God delivered into our hands … and we smote him until none was left to him remaining…. threescore cities … And we utterly destroyed them … utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. (Deuteronomy 3:3-6)

Canaanites

“The LORD … delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities.” (Numbers 21:1-3)

Heshbonites:

“And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain.” (Deuteronomy 2:33-34)

Jericho:

“And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.” (Joshua 6:21)

Ai:

“Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.” (Joshua 8:1-25)

Hazorites:

And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire. (Joshua 11:8-12)

Canaanites and Perizzites:

“and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand … and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.” (Judges 1:4)

Moabites:

“For the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand … And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.” (Judges 3:28-29)

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD;
even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:
Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.  Deuteronomy 23:3-4

Canaanites:

“And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword … and there was not a man left.” (Judges 4:14)

Ammonites:

So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon … and the LORD delivered them into his hands … And he smote them … with a very great slaughter.” (Judges 11:32-33)

 “And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he … slew thirty men.” (Judges 14:19)

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD;
even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:
Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.  Deuteronomy 23:3-4

Benjamites:

“And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men:” (Judges 20:35-37)

More Benjamites:

“And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.” (Judges 20:44-16)

The Philistines

God delivered the Philistines to Jonathan: “the LORD hath delivered them … And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armour bearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were an half acre of land. (1 Samuel 14:12)

God orders Saul to kill every Amalekite man, woman, and child

(God remembers what Amalek did hundreds of years ago.)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.”Thus saith the LORD of hosts … slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.” Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.(1 Samuel 15:2-3)

God delivers the Philistines to David

I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand … So David … fought with the Philistines … and smote them with a great slaughter.” (1 Samuel 23:2-5)

“And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.” (2 Samuel 5:19, 25)

God gives the command to kill everyone in the houses of Jeroboam and Baasha

Baasha killed everyone in the house of Jeroboam “according to the saying of the Lord.” (1 Kings 15:29)

Zimri killed everyone in the house of Baasha “according to the word of the Lord.” (1 Kings 16:11-12)

Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, and Hitites to be utterly destroyed under the LORD’s command

But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:: (Deuteronomy 20:17)

God delivers the Syrians into the Israelites’ hands (1 Kings 20:28-29)

Jehu killed “all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria … according to the saying of the Lord“(2 Kings 10:16-17)

The Lord kills 1,000,000  Ethiopians.

And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah  So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled. and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD(2 Chronicles 14:9-14)

And then there are just ridiculous things;

He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.Deuteronomy 23:1-2

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:

Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee

Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee

Sometimes, the jealous God got so mad at the Children of Israel that he killed them!

Judean soldiers killed for forsaking God (2 Chronicles 28:6)

God delivered the Israelites into the hand of the Chaldeans. (2 Chronicles 36:16-17)

God condoned, commanded or committed numerous crimes against humanity. He would have been found guilty in a world court of  genocide, infanticide, mass murder and other heinous acts. Why do you love god? It’s obvious he doesn’t love you.
